I began my career as a piccolo-soprano but then decided upon a reputable life as theoretical physicist. This is the short version. Some more details, dates, grades, sound and smoke can be found here, hier respectively.

Most recently, I became head of the visitors program of the Max-Planck Institute for the Physics of Complex System in Dresden. It's the best job one can possibly imagine: The MPIPKS is a very vivid place. Every year, more than 1300 scientists from all over the world come here to conduct their research or join conferences. The visitors program coordinates the stays, organizes seminars and workshops, assists in bureaucratic procedures and is in general the place you go with any wish, problem or concern. Thus, we never run out of challenges and meet the most interesting people. The best thing about it, however, is that I am joining the world's most fabulous team.
